Eleven Huesday Extra Clear Cream | Review

Eleven Huesday sent this product just in time when I was looking for a moisturizer to match our weather as it’s starting to get hot and humid, and everyone else is going out of town over weekends and the holidays for their summer trips. It’s the Eleven Huesday Extra Clear Cream.

Here’s a little background about the brand. Established in 2014, with their base in Gyeonggi-do Korea, Eleven Huesday is a new anti-aging skincare brand that values and studies the natural vitality of skin. They were created under the principle that skin changes can be done by optimizing your skin mechanism, whatever type of skin you have. The role of the routine is to restore the rhythm of the skin. They go through the natural herbal medicine patented ingredients to the latest ingredients of the proven skin care to provide us with the recipe that will make our skin healthier.

Complete List of Ingredients:

HOW TO USE: Shake well before use. Take proper amount of the product and spread evenly over the face. When drops come up, pat gently to be absorbed.

Packaging: It’s in a white laminated box with silver lining and gray print. Most of the information on the box is in Korean. Inside the box is a paper insert with both English and Korean languages. I really appreciated this extra touch by Eleven Huesday. Thank you so much for making it easier for your global consumers!

Most of the info I needed were in English. I only used the ever reliable Google Translate app out of curiosity to read the info printed in Korean, like what’s on the back of the box which shows a brief product description, how to apply, precautions on using the product and manufacturing info. The product is in a squeezable white bottle with the same prints as the box.

The batch code, manufacturing date and expiration date can be found at the bottom of both the box and bottle. It’s very helpful that they clearly printed both manufacturing and expiration dates on both packaging because it sometimes get confusing. I, for one, am very forgetful and needs a constant reminder on the shelflife of the products I’m using. I actually have a spreadsheet on this but I forget to update it.

The bottle is just the right size, small enough and very handy to bring with me when travelling. I don’t need to transfer a portion of the product to a travel kit. Thumbs up for this! I don’t like transferring products and exposing them unnecessarily.

It’s spill-proof too! The bottle has a tiny spout similar to most Korean brand sun creams I’ve seen. The twist cap clicks and locks in place once closed.

It’s important to note that this product is Paraben-free and contains Niacinamide, Centella Asiatica Extract and other plant and fruit extracts known for their skin benefits. Some ingredients that caught my attention because they’re new to me include Lipidure® PMB, MultiEX BSASM and SKIN PLUS CALM. They can be found on the description in the paper insert.

Lipidure® PMB – a Phosphorylcholine based polymer with small content of short alkyl chain, mainly used for skin care. This material has a higher moisturizing efficacy in comparison with Sodium hyaluronate with high safety. Furthermore, it suppresses irritation from various kind of irritants such as surfactants and peeling agents. (source: ulprospector.com)

MultiEX BSASM – a unique combination of 7 natural plant extracts well-known and traditionally used in Asia in order to obtain a fast and particularly efficient soothing effect. It is composed by Centella, Green Tea, Chamomile, Licorice, Rosemary, Skullcap and Japanese knotweed. This original mix has proven its activity in order to reduce extreme irritation after only 4 weeks, in a very powerful manner. (source: ulprospector.com)

Unfortunately, I’m not successful in finding anything about SKIN PLUS CALM. If you are familiar with it, or know where I can find more info about this ingredient, it would be much appreciated if you can share it with us. TIA!

There are also some ingredients that are generally recognized as safe but may cause possible skin irritations like Propylene Glycol (3rd on their ingredients list), Fragrance and other possible skin irritants.

Please check out the third photo on this post for the complete list of ingredients.

Scent and Texture:

It’s got a lovely fresh floral scent. I find the fragrance really pleasant but it may be a little bit strong for those with sensitive noses. I have a somewhat sensitive nose so I’m about 75% good with the scent, and 25% of me said no-no. Maybe if they tone it down a bit, that would be perfect.

The product is a mousse type cream that’s very light and easy to spread. It gets absorbed in a few seconds and sets matte without any tackiness.

As mentioned on the instructions on How to Use, I shake the product well before use. Afterwards, I dispense an appropriate amount onto the back of my hand, dab them around my face and neck, spread evenly and pat for better absorption. There were times when I felt like the product won’t spread evenly because of the mousse texture, but I realized that I just had to work it in and continue spreading.

I preferred using this in the morning because the texture is light and it provided the moisture my oily-combination skin needed throughout the day. I always made sure to apply sun cream on top of this product.

On the photo above, though the lighting may seem a bit different due to the angle of my hand, you can still notice that the cream had a slight tone-up effect. When I used this on my face, it brightened my skin which made me look fresh. It’s like MSBB (my-skin-but-better). This is great for that #nofoundationday. I just used sun cream, a little blush, eyebrow pencil (because I barely have any), a lip balm or tint, and I was all set. Been doing this for the past weekends. I’m not sure if it’s just my imagination, but it looked like my skin tone got a little bit more even. I’m hoping that with longer use, the Extra Clear Cream can also help even out the acne marks on my nose and chin area.

OVERALL: I’m pleased to have had the opportunity to try the Eleven Huesday Extra Clear Cream. I find it to be an awesome product, but a bit pricey for a 50g tube. Also, I hope they look into those ingredients that can possibly cause skin irritation.
